Trekking in Pakistan doesn’t need any special permission from the government, but in some areas like LOC, or other international borders which needs an NOC from government. The main difference between trekking & hiking is that, on trekking you walk for long time maybe for days. While on a hike you walk for a day or few hours. For example K2 basecamp trek, most of the tour operators arrange trek to concordia only, from concordia they arange day hike to k2 basecamp. Due to covid19 Pakistan tourism sector was hit hard, but now gradually tourist from around the globe has moved towards Pakistan for trekking, hiking, mountaineering. Pakistan is full of adventure sports therefore the government is taking a good interest in boosting tourism. With time tourist facilities are also increasing.
