Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan is the best place for trekkers and adventurers who wants to explore the unexplored areas. Pakistan is full of small medium and long treks from mountains to deserts. Pakistan has blessed with world highest mountain ranges named as Karakoram, Himalayas and Hindukush. The most popular mountains in Pakistan are K2, Nanga Parbat, G1, G2 and Broad Peak. K2 is the 2nd tallest mountain in the world after Mount Everest. Trekking in Pakistan doesn’t need any special permission from the government, but in some areas like LOC, or other international borders which needs an NOC from government. Trekking is Pakistan is most popular among youngsters of Pakistan.

Hiking & Trekking

The main difference between trekking & hiking is that, on trekking you walk for long time maybe for days. While on a hike you walk for a day or few hours. For example K2 basecamp trek, most of the tour operators arrange trek to concordia only, from concordia they arange day hike to k2 basecamp. In recent years trekkers from allover the world has increased, trekkers choose K2 basecamp trek on their top list. Due to covid19 Pakistan tourism sector was hit hard, but now gradually tourist from around the globe has moved towards Pakistan for trekking, hiking, mountaineering. Pakistan is full of adventure sports therefore the government is taking a good interest in boosting tourism. With time tourist facilities are also increasing. Some adventure lovers not fond of mountaineering or climbing. however, some do like trekking or hiking.
