Skardu ShangriLa
Skardu ShangriLa is the gate way to K2. This valley is known as Shangri-La and is one of the most important towns with a striking beauty and landscape is the base for all adventurers to different parts of Gilgit/Baltistan. It is a region in northern part of Pakistan. Skardu is one of the most peaceful area in Pakistan. Skardu is situated in the Karakoram Mountains just to the south of K2, the world’s second highest mountain. It is an extremely mountainous region, with an average altitude of over 3,350 m. TOUR PLAN:
Day 01: Islamabad – Chilas
Skardu ShangriLa Tour – Morning drive from Islamabad to Chilas. KKH from Besham to Chilas is so dirty however you can experience the main kkh through high mountains besides indus river. In addition to this you can see the giant Diamar Basha dam site on the way.Arrive and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Chilas – Skardu
After breakfast drive to Skardu via Indus narrow valleys. Arrival in Skardu and transfer to your hotel. Skardu is the trekkers and mountain climbers’ paradise. Visit skardu bazar and buy some gemstones. I am not fond of gems stones. However, I do like ruby. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03:Shigar Valley
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Shigar Valley, explore local area. In addition visit Shigar Fort. Overnight in Shigar.
Day 04:Khalpu Valley
After breakfast proceed for full day excursion to Khalpu Valley. Explore local area. However if your want to skip Khalpu valley tour you can visit hotsprings in Shigar valley.
Day 05: Skardu ShangriLa
Morning drive to Skardu. Arrive and proceed to visit Satpara, Shangrila and Skardu Bazaar. This is the main highlight of Skardu ShangriLa Tour. However Shangrila resort is the best place for tourist to stay. Overnight at the hotel in Skardu.
Day 06: Skardu-KKH-Chilas
After breakfast drive to Chilas. This day will be so exhausting day for you, because Skardu to Chilas road in not that much comfortable. Therefore you need prepare for it. Arrive and transfer to the hotel in Chilas. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07:Chilas-Besham-Islamabad
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Islamabad. This is the longest day of the tour, in other words this is the most exciting day, because you are backing home . Arrive & transfer to your desired address or to the airport.
